Did you *know* you had endo before you were diagnosed? I had a pretty good hunch because most every woman in my family has endo (4 aunts, mom, and sister) and I always had bad periods. I held off seeing the OBGYN for almost a year when my symptoms got worse because I was scared to find out for sure. I don't know why, treating it is obviously better than not treating it.

i actually had no idea. i thought the pain was normal and i had no idea what endo was.
the only reason i went in for a lap was because with DH's morphology we had to do IUI and my doc wouldnt do one without a lap. we were shocked when he told me i had it.

No clue whatsoever. In hindsight, it makes sense.

A lot of my friends who have it were shocked to find out they had it too. I think girls are taught that it's normal to have a lot of pain during your period, and if you never have anything different, you think everyone has a period like yours. I think even doctors don't think it could be endo a lot of the time, and many girls end up thinking that they are just wimps and need to get over it. It makes me sad, but at least I know when/ if I have girls, I'll be on the look out and get them treated as soon as symptoms show.

I thought that I had it because it runs on my mom's side of the family. I kept mentioning it to my gyno and she put my on the bcp. I did not realize that it was that big of a problem until we started trying.

it is only now that i know about endo and chat to other women that i have realised how many women have no pain whatsoever.
i would love that, to not be riddled with pain every month.
