Hi ladies. I used be be a co-host here a long time ago (very long time ago actually, Misty and I were the first co-hosts of the board). I've missed JustMommies and the friendships I formed. We aren't TTC anymore (had a hysterectomy 2 weeks ago) and never had any children (1 loss). I was hoping that I could stick around and offer advice and encouragement for you ladies. If you would rather I not be here, I understand that to. Short bio about me since I don't know how many of you were here when I was:
I started having problems at 18. It took 5 doctors and 4 years to get an endo diagnosis. I tried BC which didn't work. I had my first lap in '04. The Dr. found stage IV endo and got out what he could. Several months later the pain was back and I did Lupron for 13 months. My first period after that was horrible but my Dr. just couldn't believe the endo was still there. He sent me to a urologist and gastroenterologist, neither of which found anything. In '06 I saw a different Dr. in his practice and this first thing he told me was that the endo was back and I needed another lap so 11 days after my wedding I went in for my 2nd lap. When the pain came back that time I did the Depo shot for a while. Once we started TTC all my tests were normal and DH's SA was normal. They did an MRI that showed a hydrosalpinx, the CA-125 cancer marker was elevated showing endo, and I was diagnosed with PCOS. In '10 I had another lap to repair the hydrosalpinx, have endo removed, uterine fibroid removed, and some cysts. 3 months later on my first round of Clomid we got pregnant. We lost it at 5 weeks. 5 more Clomid cycles and nothing but serious side effects. In Feb. of this year I had a talk with my doc and he wouldn't agree to a hysterectomy but did remove my right ovary since it had been causing all the problems. Again he also removed endo and some cysts from my left ovary. A few months ago I decided I just couldn't deal with the heavy bleeding, constant pain, and debilitating cramps. I saw another Dr. and he said usually he would say no way to what I wanted but he figured after 12 years, countless types of BC, Lupron, and 4 surgeries I knew what I wanted. First he made me see a gastro. again and ran some hormone tests. They showed that I was slowly working my way to perimenopause already. After 4 years we came to the realization that pregnancy wasn't going to happen and both of us are content with that decision. 2 weeks ago, on the 9th, I went in and had everything removed.
So as I said even though I'm not TTC anymore I feel like I could be a good source of information and I can def. encourage you guys. I know that the decision I made is not for everyone and would never try to pressure anyone to do it.
