I've looked on the internet for information about IC and have read a lot about it but I'm wondering if any of you have it. What are your symptoms? I've read any major surgery (esp. a hysterectomy) can cause it. I ended up in the ER last night for what I thought was either a horrible UTI or kidney infection. Everything was normal so the doc gave me a shot of morphine and zofran, a script for some percocet, and a script for a U/S. She said possible hemotoma or seroma but I'm really thinking it's IC. Just wanna compare symptoms you know?

Some flank pain
Lower abdomen pain/pressure (right above and under pubic bone)
Peeing a lot
Urgency
Feeling like I have to go when I don't
Some problems going
Basically feeling like I have a UTI when I dont.

They checked for IC during my last lap, and they said I had a very mild version, but the majority of my pain/ issues were caused by the endo. I had 2 ER visits before my last lap thinking I had a kidney stone or something because the pain was so bad. My main symptoms were urgency, frequency, and just general bladder pain. It got a lot better after my last lap (I had endo all around my bladder causing most of my symptoms). I still have mild symptoms, but if I cut back on sugar, my symptoms practically disappear. Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!

ETA: my mom went to a doctor that specializes in gyno/bladder issues (they have an official name, I just cant remember it) after her hysterectomy (she ended up with severe IC after her surgery) and the doctor helped her a ton.

Insterstitial cystitis (maybe I spelled that right) it's a bladder condition. I think it is fairly common with endow ladies. I was tested about a year ago and it was negative but who knows.
