Yeh, I got a letter in the mail Saturday saying thanks for applying but the position has been filled. I was told they would make a decision Friday or Monday. For the letter to be in the mail Saturday morning, the letter would have had to have gone out before lunch Friday. DH and I figure they knew ahead of time who they wanted. At least they interviewed me before they sent the letters out. The day of my interview I was 60th. When I got the letter I was 43rd. I'm guess I ranked in the top 5 of the 16 people they interviewed, if not the top 3. That bumped me up not only in this county, but also every other county I applied in and statewide.
Positive note: Monday was my first day back to work after 4 weeks. My boss wants to hire someone to help me since I'm the only one in my department. I'll be over the department meaning a promotion and raise. We've (my boss, me, and three others) have been doing my job this week trying to make the owner realize it's way too much for one person to do.
