Hi ladies,

I used to hang out on the TTC#1 board before taking a break. Just a few days ago I had a laparoscopy for my RE to take a peek a look around and see if he could find out what was wrong. It was suspected I had a blocked tube as well. I did not have any symptoms of endo nor was it really suspected. However, I was told that they found Stage 3 endo with adhesions and that my bowel was connected to one of my ovaries. Obviously I was still pretty out of it when the doc talked to DH, so I'm relying on his memory for my information. We go back for a follow up next week, but I guess I am just wondering what are our chances that we'll actually be able to conceive on our own? I'm not really sure how to feel about this diagnosis. I almost feel relieved to know what was wrong with me, but I'm so afraid this is the end of us being able to do it on our own and we're going to have to start saving for IVF.

I'm just a mess with emotions.

hi and welcome!!!!
i am so sorry you got this news, and i know just how confused you feel.

the great news is that you are very fertile after a LAP. and most endo suffers successfully fall pregnant naturally.

please let us know what the doc says at your follow up, and we would love for you to hang out and chat with us.

It's so scary to be told you have endo. I remember I was barely out of recovery when I found out (and I was barely conscious) and I just blurted out "AM I EVER GOING TO HAVE A BABY?!?!?!" The good news is, endo is NOT an infertility sentence, and especially since only one of your tubes is closed, the odds are you will eventually conceive. And like Kerian said, after a lap you are very fertile, so take advantage of this time.

Good luck and welcome to the board!

Thanks for the feedback! I thought I heard the doc giving us six months, I'm not sure what that was really referring to. I know he mentioned IVF to DH, but I really hope we can make the best of it now that I've been cleaned out. I hope you're right and I'm one of those that get pregnant now that we've had the LAP.

I go to the doc for follow up next Friday, so I'll make sure to post what he tells us.
