Last summer I had a compost bin going and ended up leaving it all winter too. I just never got around to doing anything with it until this spring. When I peeked inside I had some pretty nice compost in there... all except for the egg shells. They didn't seem to decompose at all. Do I need to crush them up into little peices beore putting them in to the compost bin or not use them at all? I'm sure I remember my dad putting egg shelss in his compost piles.
