Hi! i'm Jacqueline (jack-leen) mommy to Sarah who is 2 years old. I just started some little peat pots and i'm hoping to transfer some seedlings soon! i have never really gardened before so i am pretty clueless.
we just moved from NJ to Indiana and are living with my inlaws while we look for a place, so i'm not sure what kind of outside situation i will have to transfer my veggies to...hopefully we'll have a backyard, but if not we'll at least have a balcony and that'll have to do. hopefully it all works out.

Hey Jac, excited to see you made your way over here.

Glad you made it okay and good luck looking for a place. Are you looking to move out from inlaws right away? I can't remember if you were or not. If you plan on staying with your inlaws awhile you can always transfer into bigger pots and do a container garden which is moveable.

so far i have planted: lavender, dill, thai basil, zucchini, strawberries, and onion. we have some peppers (habanero and thai chilies) and cilantro seeds that we'll probably plant tomorrow.

we only plan on staying here as long as we need to...no longer than a month is what my husband PROMISED me, but i hope it's sooner than that. we looked at 2 places so far, one was very nice but not in a great neighborhood and then other was just a bit out of our price range.

I said the same thing! I've always disliked gardening (with the exception of being really little and helping my mom- that was fun) and I really didn't think it would go well. I figured everything would die within a month. Turns out, everything is absolutely flourishing and I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would. I hope the same is true for you.

We had no idea what we were doing that first year. A lot of it is trial and error. Just make sure your plants ge water and I'm sure something will grow.
