I bought a package of deep purple day lillies to plant on the side of the steps leading to our front deck. I opened the package to look at the roots, layed them down and went to dig 3 holes. When I turned around I only had 1 root sitting there! I asked my 2 year old "did you take the flowers?" "No, Mommy" she said. Then I look over at my dogs who are swallowing the last bits of day liiy roots. Hope they aren't poisonous!! Stinkers!

Oh no! lol
Sounds like something a dog would do.

How do you keep the dogs from running over all your flowers btw?

It's actually harder to keep my girls from trampling the flowers than the dogs!! They stay out of the beds pretty well but my girls follow me everywhere I go and haven't quite understood yet that they can't step on the plants. They also think they need to help weed but end up pulling out my favorite flowers!!
