I started off with some herbs in a window planter.

Then I found this cool thing at Home Depot, and transplanted them in it.

Then I thinned them out and did soapy water on the leaves because they were getting eaten.

And now. They've all almost died.

Then I've had these hanging plants that have been doing really well for about 2 months.

And now.

Isn't this weird? Nothing drastic changed lately. I didn't water more/less or the weather didn't get super rainy/super hot. I'm so sad and I don't know how to save them, if at all.

The flowers look like they were eaten. As for the herbs maybe the soapy water didn't work. The soap worked on my lettuce but not other plants.

I'm thinking the soap too. I've used soapy water to get aphids off of my roses, but haven't used it on the garden. That stinks!

Does anybody have any ideas for organically getting bugs off the plants? It seems we have two people with bad results with soap now.

Soaps are chemicals and destroy some very delicate plants like herbs. To fend off bugs and aphids on my plants, I use pepper spray. You have to spray the pants daily though and use some protective gear as this may also hurt you if your skin is exposed too much. For the pepper spray solution, just mix pepper powder and water, mix thoroughly until all powder are dissolved. If its too hot, add more water.
This solution will keep off leaf and fruit eaters. The pests won't be killed but definitely they will keep off the leaves and the fruits.
