My grandma holds firm to planting peas and potatoes on St. Patrick's day in our zone (5b). While I'm not planting potatoes this year, I will be planting peas this afternoon! Last year I planted too late and had an awful crop. This year they are getting a prime space since DS loves them, planting early and often! I'm just so excited to be able to get out and do some gardening.

I noticed the first crocus bloom up in our yard yesterday too!

We can't do worse than last year when I planted in a bad spot and nothing came up See, when I was planning my garden last year I forgot to adjust for the leaves that grow on the trees... so my peas ended up being in the shade. DOH! We had a great time planting - my 2yo DS helped!

My first Crocus came up yesterday and two more today!

I never knew you could plant peas so early! Good luck!

My garden is still covered in snow, with another storm expected on Friday. I can't wait to see dirt again.

I hope you climb out of winter soon! I'm ecstatic with my Spring garden. DH keeps telling me I don't have to check it every day
