I just started my whiskey tub veggie and fruit garden consisting of strawberries, cantelope, carrots, pumpkin, green beans, tomatoes and there is corn in another place.
My child will be picking and eating these things as its his garden so what bug, and infection detours and fertalizers can I use on the plants? I LOVE miracle grow but dont see much of an option at my local lowes.
Do I need to wait until I see bugs and fungus before treating? I have a veggie and flower shake and feed miracle grow can I use that?

I use compost that I make in my garden from other materials (grass clippings, leavings, fruit & veggies craps, paper, etc) - nature's Miracle Gro.

Personally, I prefer organic fruits and vegetables, so I use compost and natural methods of pest protection, which is usually in the form of companion planting. If something really bad came up, I'd try organic options first, but that's just me.

What you put on is entirely up to you and what you want your children exposed to. Miracle Gro is no worse than what storebought fruist & veggies will have on them.
