Do you plant per the spacing directions on the tag or seed packet of your plants? Are there any times you always follow it or always do not follow it?

I don't follow them either. For one thing, I don't plant in straight rows. I do diagonals, which fits more plants per square foot. We do have a decent sized garden, but I would prefer much more space so I space save. Also, spinach has ridiculously wide spacing on the seed packets. Definitely don't follow that one!

Haha good to know i'm not the only one who doesn't follow the spacing rules! I estimate what looks good and it always works just fine.

I have way too much "help" to follow the directions on the seed packets!

ah, no.. i didnt this yr. i have been around gardens a lot, and i feel the way i am attempting will be good.

besides, being my first veggie garden on my own, i am bound to make some mistake! lol

and i agree that a lot of them, the distance apart is ridiculous, even after taking everything in to acct
