I planted 3 different varieties of pumpkins in my garden, small for cooking, medium and giant for jack-o-lanterns. NONE of them are doing well. They are getting eaten by cucumber beetles and just aren't growing worth anything.

I also have some hollyhocks growing in my flower garden. Some little ones have sprouted from last years seeds so I have moved them into better places. When pumpkins and hollyhocks have their first leaves they look very.much.alike!

Soooooooooooooooooooo, thinking I was moving hollyhocks I now have PUMPKINS growing in 3 of my flower gardens!

Well at least they are goring SOMEWHERE!

lol they do look alike. My DH asked me the other day if my hollyhocks were cucumbers . I thought to myself "Yes dear, I planted cucumbers right next to the deck" .

ROFL, thats too funny.

We randomly had a huge pumpkin plant growing in our garden in the front of the house last year. It got huge but i didn't get any pumpkins, the squirrels always get them before they get big enough.
