Do you own a ruler ? If so do you measure your seedlings ?

We do and one of our petunias seedlings are 10 inches waiting for it to start getting more leaves.

We have a meter stick and quite a few tape measures. Rich made me some spacers that are 30 inches (the width of our beds) and then he spaced out nails at 3, 4, 6 and I think it's 8 inches so that when I plant I just put the piece of wood on the ground face down and I know just where to drop the seeds. Eventually I would like to buy a row seeder but they cost around $200 or more and it is not in the budget right now.

I don't measure my seedlings. Will you plant them outside when they get to a certain size? It was so weird last year, we had a bunch of petunias grow that I never even planted! I think they got mixed in with some columbine seeds that I bought.

I am concerned about the rain this summer too. Last year we went over 3 weeks at a stretch without any rainfall. It costs a lot of money to water all of the time.
