Well i started a week ago and the zinnas are sprouting. Waiting on cucumbers,strawberries,and tomatoes to sprout. Mid april I will start pumpkin and watermelons.

i wont start anything until late april and early may. except herbs, because i will keep the ones i start now indoors. all others will be planted directly into the ground. i v got lots of work to do outside but we need a few more warmer days to do it. Winter just does not want to leave us this year sigh

I planted some strawberries, tomatoes, and Ephedra sinica about two weeks ago when the chill started to come off. While it wasn't chilly, we certainly got dumped on with rain, so now I am worried they drowned out.

I pretty much start everything indoors - there are very few things I start outside.

Currently outside:
Asparagus
Lettuce (4 varities)
Spinach
Strawberries

Currently in seed starters indoors:
Bell Peppers
Broccoli
Cantalaupe
Carrots (in their own huge pots with greenhouse top on the deck)
Cayenne Pepper
Corn
Cucumbers
Echinacea
Garlic
Ginger
Green Beans
Lavender
Onions (2 varities)
Peas
Radish
Sorghum
Squash
Stevia
Sugar Peas
Tomatoes (4 varieties)
Toothache Herb
Watermelon
Yarrow
Zucchini

I follow my Papa's advice and never put anything in the ground until May 1st (for our area) even though most of the area starts putting in the ground around April 15th because he's watched his brothers-in-law lose their whole crops due to a late frost.

To bad we are moving or I'll be gardening this year but at your new house when it get fix up I'll be gardening next year for sure.
