Hi ladies-
I'm new to this board but not to JM. I'm a member of the Nov 08
PR...I don't have a whole lot of time to get on JM but I try to lurk regularly. I came across this board recently. My son is 7 months (as of the 2nd) and he weights 12 lbs 11oz. The doctor referred him to an Endocrinoligist, Nutritionist and a Urologist. He was born 2 weeks early via emergency c-section due to IUGR....anyone else dealt with IUGR? We aren't sure if his small size is still due to the IUGR, something else completely...or if he's just a little guy. He is proportionately small...below the 5th percentile in head circumference, weight and height. He is not a very good eater...we introduced solids around 5 months and he just doesn't care for it...we can MAYBE get him to eat 1/2 - 1 jar a day...MAYBE. I'm just ready to have answers. If he's just small, I'm okay with that...but if there is a bigger issue, I want to fix it. I want him to grow like other babies. He is right on track developmentally...just super small. Thanks for reading...I look forward to getting to know you all.
ETA- He was born 4lbs 1 oz and 17.5 inches long. His weight gain overall seems great...tripled his birthweight in 6 months but the pedi is not happy with his weight and the fact that he is not catching up.
