He went in at 7:00 am to have it done and we left at about 9:15. He didn't do his horrible screaming thing this time! I was soo worried about that! He is rather hoarse/raspy but that is normal. The initial comments from his doctor were not what I wanted to hear. He said that his small intestine should look more rough or at least dull but it was slick and shiny...not a good sign...he said that would be the case if he had Celiac's Disease but he can't be certain until the biopsies come back in a week. Our follow-up appointment is on the 16th at 11:40. I really hope his initial comments are wrong. We had to follow the gluten free diet for a while...not as well as we will need to I might add...and it was a nightmare!!! If he wasn't allready restricted from so much it wouldn't really be as big of a deal. He allready can't have soy, milk, eggs, tomatoes, and carrots. He is also restricted to apples and bananas in the fruit family due to toddler diarrhea where he can't process fructose very well or at all and it leads to diarrhea which means he absorbs less calories...If the Celiac's test comes back positive he will have to avoid wheat, barley, rye, and oats as well as anything contaminated by, containing, or coming from any of those four things. He will have to have his own toaster, we will have to cook all of his food separately, he will have his own peanut butter and jelly jars...it is just rediculous!
Sorry this was so long...I am just getting overwhelmed again and am starting to wonder what he WILL be able to eat...
