It has taken me a long time to "embrace" this term. Why? Because aside from being short/underweight he's a perfectly healthy little individual. He's active and happy. But ever since his 9 month appointment his weight has been WAY to low and no one seems to care to much. Until I insisted something wasn't right. I lived with the "we'll wait it out" and I was fine because he didn't seem sick or anything. However, he hasn't really gained anything in a while. He has been between 28 and 30 lbs for the last year.
They finally send him to get a bone age scan and it came back with almost a 1.3 year adjustment. The NP told me that everything was normal when I asked. The doctor asked what all we had done and I mentioned that we had done the bone age and I was told not to worry about it. (Never told the actual results as of yet) Well, he looked at the results and he said didn't we send you to Children's? So a year later we finally got our referral to go see a doctor. Because given no height gain or weight gain, they are pretty sure that his bones probably haven't grown much.
This appointment is tomorrow... I'm not 100% sure what to expect. I'm figuring another bone age scan and probably blood work. But I'm not sure what else beyond that.

I'm nervous but I really kind of hope that I find something out... because this waiting with NO gain isn't feeling right anymore.
