Danny went to the GI yesterday for his monthly weight check there. He looked over the records and he lost 4.5 ounces since his last visit there which is less than the 12 he had lost but he has not varied more than six ounces in his weight from his April appointment...the first with this doctor. He is 23lb. 12oz which is exactly what he weighed back in April. The thyoid and growth hormone tests both came back normal as of today and the GI says that solely based on his growth pattern he is malnourished. Not due to what he is eating but because he isn't absorbing things well at all for some reason. We have a colonoscopy scheduled for 10/04-10/05 with overnight preparation at the hospital. He will be checking for Eosinophilic disease in his lower digestive tract as no one has ever checked his lower digestive tracks. While he has an IV in allready he is going to do a CBC to make sure that there are no eosinophils in his blood stream as well. If these two things come back normal/negative he might do a pancreatic functions test but he can't do them at the same time because of Danny's age and size. Having him under anesthesia for 2+ hours would not be safe for a non-emergeny procedure. Basically we need to find out why he is having diarrhea and stop that as well as find a way to make him gain weight. Please keep us in your prayers so that hopefully the surgery will go well and we will find some answers soon. We are trying to get a stool elastase test collected as the last GI did that test but didn't tell us that for accurate results that you have to freeze the poo and keep it on ice until testing is done. So that test was not accurate last time it was done. I just really hope we get some answers... If you made it through all of this thank you for reading and as always any suggestions or comments are welcome.

Thanks guys. I really hope that we get something soon. Do you know how long child has to be "malnourished" before their psychology and organs etc are affected? He is really starting to worry me...
