For several months now Danny's finger and toe nails will have a section that will turn brown and then the top layer will peel off of the nail. Not the whole thing but like when your feet peel. A layer of the nail where it turned brown will just flake off sortof. Have any of your little ones had this?

All of his specialists and his ped...no one knows. It is really odd and not normal so I am just afraid that it is a symptom of whatever may be causing this but no one knows what it is...ugh...I hate not having answers...

sounds like a deficiency (sp?) to me, I know when the human body takes in too much calcium it will show in the finger nails with white spots. It is a delayed sign, since the finger nails (and toe nails) take so long to grow. But maybe his body isn't absorbing enough of something or maybe even too much of something.
Let us know if you find something out about it.
Savannah's nails just get really wavy or sort of krimped on her bad months and her hair is very short for a 4 year old (it doesn't grow as fast as other girls her age) those are the only things we've really noticed in Savanah and I believe it is definantly linked to her intake of vitamins and nutrients.

Layne has black spots on the corners of his big toe nails (they appeared shortly after his birth). It looks almost like he smashed his toe or has an infected toe nail but I just took him to the doc and he had never seen anything like it and said he didn't know what it was. I wonder if it's something similar? None of my other kids had anything like that.
