He had gone to the allergist and the GI right after he got out of the hospital in March...from a stomach bug...and got weighed yada yada.... well he went back to the GI in August and had apparently gained absolutely no weight. The doc said he was on the right track when I went in buit apparently not if he isn't growing! I found that out when I called yesterday to ask the nurse if his weight was doing okay due to a recent visit to the allergist. He has only gained a pound in 7 months... He has grown 2 centimeters in that time too but his height was always in the 30-70th percentiles even when his weight was off the charts...so that isn't really a marker of how well he is doing. We go back to the GI on Oct 25 so hopefully we will get some answers. I am wondering if he dismissed the lack of weight gain due to the hieght increase which for most kids is fine but not for mine...

My DD has only gained 1 pound this year, but she has grown a lot in height. Hopefully you'll get some answers and he gains soon.

I am trying not to worry too much but can't help but notice the drop on his growth curve. He was gaining so well until march and apparantly pretty much has stopped since then...

My daughter went 2 years or so around 3,4,5 years old and didnt gain weight and only height .... do they calculate his weight for height????.... At 6 she gained 4 lbs or so over a year's time

Wow! Your boy is one in a few billion! I'm so glad that it's treatable, and I totally get the importance of keeping insurance on him. Our insurance is Kiersten's life line. It's because of insurance that DH joined the Army, and I truly believe that she would not of made it had he not. Just her feeding supplies alone cost about $1000.00.
