Danny had an endoscopy with biopsies and a ph probe overnight monday through Tuesday. The endoscopy showed mild gastritis and esophagitis as well as many many ulcers from his duodenum throughout his small intestine.
I think we have ruled out SDS as a cause for his weight and blood issues but I am still waiting to hear back from Cincinnati on that 100%. He is supposed to start Corokote today if we can get one that the insurance will pay for that does not contain red 40. We are supposed to 100% avoid all of his known allergens until we find out what is causing the ulcers so even though red 40 is only a topical allergy...as far as we know...he can't have anything containing that either. He also has to avoid a list of things that commonly irritate ulcers and reflux as they think he has reflux as well. He fluctuates between 31 and 32 pounds as he has since Jan or Feb but he never goes over 32 pounds. He has gone under 31 several times though. He got down to 30 pounds 2 oz a couple times but creeped back up to 31... We will have biopsy and ph probe results Tuesday at the latest. If we need to change something else sooner they will call with the results though. :/ We shall see...
