From friends/family I hear all kinds of things. Mostly things like well my daughter/son doesn't eat very much either. Usually things to reassure me but not a lot of good advice.
The best thing that I have been adviced was from the feeding clinic and basically if he likes to eat a certain food let him have that. Work from there. I was trying so hard to get him to eat a variety and now I mostly focus on the things he likes to eat.
