Do you get comments from family and/or strangers about your child's smaller size? How do you handle it? What do you say?

People often guess Brandon is younger based on his size. Sometimes I explain that he has eating issues and other times I just blow it off. Everyone in our family knows about what we've been through with specialists etc and are constantly telling me that he looks perfectly normal.

All the time, especially now that she is walking. When they see her running around, I get a lot of gasps and, "HOW OLD IS SHE???" When I tell them her age, then they are like oh, I thought she was younger, that's why I thought she couldn't possibly be walking yet, blah, blah, blah. She would be in the 50th percentile for a 6 month old, so I guess it would be weird to picture a 6 month old running around like she does.

I get how she's such a peanut all the time, and occasionally, I will get asked how much she weighs. It is almost always followed up with, "That's what my son weighed when he was 4 months old!" etc. *sigh* Whatever.

I usually just say, "Yeah, she's little," and not much more. Every now and then I get into how she won't eat, but I don't feel like getting into it most of the time. When I do, they try to suggest foods their kids loved, and I just have to nod and say I'll try it, even though I've usually tried it at least twnety times.

Most people assume she's 2 based on her size. I had people tell me she can talk really well and I just say "well she's 4" and like AnnaBananasMom said I had people doing the same thing when Lynaiah was walking. And when people know her age they always tell me how tiny she is... like I haven't noticed. But truthfully it doesn't bother me that much, I know it's genetics. I've always been really small, I'm 5'1" and I weigh 92 pounds, I also have weight gain issues but that's because I have a rare motabolism disorder which she tested negative for it but I think she needs to be a little older until she should be tested for it.

My mom just wrote down my weights. Carly is just following in my footsteps. We were only off by ounces each month.

Most people just assume she is younger than she is. People are shocked that I'm giving her table food. Well, she is almost 11 months.

The comments I usually get are "he is to small to be walking and running around"...I usually tell people, well he is almost 2.

I hear comments all the time...everyone is surprised to hear Paige is 17 months old. She is really tall and skinny so sometime people don't notice. But when they do I get comments like...wow...you need to feed that girl....ummmm duh I knew I was forgetting something!
I don't usually go into the whole...well she has Microcephaly and is FTT because I don't feel it is any of their business.
Once at CiCi's pizza someone told me she was too little to eat table food....umm first of all none of your business....2nd she is almost 1.5!!!!
