Have any of you found certain brands of nipples or bottles to be better for babies with FTT? We're currently using Avent size 2 nipples and Avent bottles. Sarah will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. She only drinks 1.5 ounces at a feeding on average. Sometimes up to 2.5 ounces, but that's rare.
Thanks,
Xty

We tried Avent, Playtex and Dr. Brown's bottles. For some reason Brandon did best on Dr. Brown's but they are such a pain to clean. We gave up on Avent pretty early on but still used Playtex from time to time. When he was old enough to hold the bottle himself, Dr. Brown's were the easiest for him. I don't know that he ever really drank better though with any particular bottle. Even at 18mo when we weaned off the bottle he only had (at most) 6oz at a time.

Dr.Brown all they way here. For some reason it really helped him out. In the begining we had to use the premie nipples for a slow flow. He is now 18months and still will only drink formula out of a bottle and he has the number one nipple.

Thanks! I just went out and got the playtex and the dr brown's and will be trying each in the next few days. Got size 1 nipples with the bottles and bought size 2 nipples for each as well. Since I last wrote I tried size 3 nipples with the Avent bottles (we generally do size 2) and they didn't cause her to eat anymore than normal and perhaps made her a bit more fussy. So we went back to size 2. So we'll see!
Thanks!
