I forgot to post about Anna's appointment with the nutritionist on Wednesday.

She now weighs 18 lbs 6 oz. She's still below the charts, but the good news is that her growth over the past two months has paralleled the curve on the growth chart. So now, for the first time since her 9 month appointment, her rate of growth is good! We just have to make up for the losses at this point. The nutritionist said a realistic goal for us is six months to get up to the 5th percentile. Let's see if we can do it.

So, it's great that she's finally growing at the appropriate rate again, but it's not without effort. She's now growing normally with...

Every cup of whole milk having Half & Half and Carnation added
1 can of Pediasure a day
Adding either butter, olive oil, cream, corn syrup, ranch dressing, or veggie dip to absolutely every single last thing she puts in her mouth

Oh, and we also got her to like ice cream, so I give her the fattiest kind (Haagen Dasz!) three times a week.

So, obviously, she's getting a lot of help to get to this weight gain, so she still has to change the way she eats. Still, at least we're not losing any ground!

She has a GI appointment in a two weeks.

Oooo, that's awesome!! Sounds like you've got a plan that works for you guys. We give Brandon ice cream too, usually almost every day (oops!, lol) but just a few bites. It's good to see them enjoying something, right? I'll have to check the labels closer if you say Haagen Dazs is the highest in calories. Congrats to you guys!!
