Hi everyone,
I thought that I should introduce myself. I am Kaylie, and am 27 years old. I have two children - my daughter is 18 months old and has a chromosome duplication - she was diagnosed FTT just shortly before her 15-month birthday. During the prior 4 months, she only gained 1.5lbs and was just shy of 18 pounds.
Once she began taking pediaSure on October 1st, she has gained just about 3 pounds - my guess is that she is around 21lb now; on December 11th, she had just surpassed the 20lb mark.
She is not consuming any solid foods, and has not for nearly a year now.

We are currently waiting to see a feeding study clinic and got word today from our infant development therapist that the clinic is expecting to see her in March.

I can't wait to get to know you all.

I hope they can help you at the clinic.
Nichole was technically considered failure to thrive but I think the GI is nuts and that she is fine. She hit 20 lbs at 15 months and not at 2 (tomorrow!!) she is right around 22 pounds maybe 23

Hi! Welcome! Sounds like pediasure is doing wonders for your daughter... that's awesome! Hopefully the feeding clinic can help her to eat some solid foods now...

Welcome Kaylie,
I am still pretty new here too. My name is Jenn and I have 3 children. My FTT child is 5 years old. At his last dr appt he weighed 29 lbs, he had been 30 but was sick so he lost a little. We have had eating issues with him in the past when he was just about 14 mos old but they were all sensory based and feeding clinic, feeding therapy and Pediasure kept him doing good. Now we don't know why he isn't gaining or really growing. He has gained about 1/2 pound in the past year and a half. We are still doing testing with him. He has an endoscopy on Tuesday of next week.

Anyway, welcome to the board!! Glad to hear that the Pediasure is helping. I wish my son would drink it.

Jenn

Welcome!

Glad to hear the Pediasure is helping her gain weight. Hopefully the feeding clinic will be able to help you out. My daughter has been going to one for months. It was determined that she does not have sensory issues, but I know that there is a lot that they can work with for those kinds of things. The first couple meetings included speech therapists who would check for any sensory aversions, chewing/swallowing issues, etc. They seemed really helpful, even though it was determined that she only had a psychological issue with food. At this point, we're only seeing the psychologist and a nutritionist in the clinic. She has gained well since we started working with them. I hope you have good luck as well!

Welcome! I'm Beth, my daughter is Anastasia. At 17 months she weighed in at 16 lbs 12 oz. She's gained less than a lb in the past 5 months, and has been diagnosed with FTT. We tried the pediasure and she won't drink it. I'm glad it is working well for you!
