Hi everyone, haven't been able to come around for awhile, been very busy with work. I don't get a chance to come on the boards anymore. But I just wanted some input...

My DD Katie will be 3 in April. She is still very small-- only 24 lbs and 32 inches. She still doesn't eat great but we give her Pediasure and Carnation Instant Breakfast. Her bloodwork comes back mostly normal. The only thing that is usually off is her C02 Levels, which she takes medication for. One time one of her liver enzymes came back somewhat elevated, but the doctor said it was probably nothing and to check it in a couple months.

So anyway, does anyone else have a DC this small? I am so worried she's not going to grow. She saw a pedi endocronologist a year ago, he thinks she might have constutional growth delay but wanted to wait until she was 3 to MAYBE to hormone/bone age testing.

Thanks,
Laura

Hi My daughter is 17 months and only 16 lbs 12 oz. They said at the rate she is growing she will hit 20 lbs by the age of 3. So far they haven't done much testing, they just keep talking about it.

hi laura...i was thinking about you guys the other day.

brandon hasn't gained anything in a few months but has been cleared by all his doctors. he was 23.5lbs in sept and still weighs that, he'll be 3 in september. they didn't tell me what he should be gaining at this point and i'm not stressed about it but it would seem like he'd gain *something* over the last few months. he's as active as ever but still a super small eater. some days are better than others. i don't know what to really think either...sorry, i'm no help.

When Anna stopped eating, the concern was that her growth would be stunted as well. At the time, she wasn't getting even half the calories she was supposed to get. Do you think your daughter is getting enough? If you are concerned that it might be more complicated than that, I would push for those tests. I don't know what CO2 levels are related to. Your daughter's weight is probably the same as what DD will be at 3, but she is already the same height at 20 months.

Hi Laura! One of my twins has always been small. Isabelle was born weighing 2lbs 9os. She will be 3 in May and only weighs 22-23 lbs. It seems like your dd is about the same as my dd. We are concerned about it, more than the doctors. We try to give her PediaSure (and Carnation some) to help boost her calorie intake.
