Finally, my DD, who has gone down in the growth curve her whole 8 month old life, has gone UP!
She started at 80% and a month ago at 7 months old was down to 9%. We started a new diet with her then and today she was weighed and is at the 18%!!!!!!!!
Oh my god, I'm soooooooooooo excited and happy.
We knew it would be a good weigh in too. Before you could see each of her ribs when you looked at her back - but about a week ago I noticed that her back was totally smooth now. Her legs are getting that baby chub everyone loves finally. And she's got a little tummy now! Wahoooooooooooooo!
Bottles were making her angry and she was eating less and less (we had been forcing them so long that we think she was getting mad and refusing to eat). So we stopped pushing them and instead made sure to offer cereal three times a day (with a fruit or veggie mixed in for flavor - but the calories are in the cereal). We added corn oil and formula powder to the cereal to up the calories. Luckily she liked the solids, so she eats them up. We've noticed lately she eats a bit more of her bottle too - perhaps she's finally feeling safe to drink it? I'm not sure.
Anyway, just wanted to share our good news and thank you all for the advice you've offered along the last 8 months.

And I bet you're right about her getting angry at the bottle. DD got so angry at the bottle too. She only ever wanted to have an ounce or two at a time, and I tried to force the rest. She did the same thing with eating eventually. She was a great eater until we started pushing her. Once we eased up on her, she accepted things much better. It's tough not to fall into that trap when you're so concerned about their weight! I hope she continues to improve so you don't have to worry about that again!
