She had a lot of blood work done recently to see if there was a medical condition that was making her so tiny. They tested her growth hormone, they said they tested two parts (?). One part is normal, and the other is on the low side. They think, that because her she is getting taller that perhaps it's on the low side because of inadequate caloric intake. However, if her height starts to stall or stop all together that it will be a sign that it's due to something else and they'll discuss our options then. Right now her height is about the 7th percentile.

Also one of her liver enzymes was elevated. This is the second time it's been elevated but they think it might be due to the stress of having her blood taken, so they are just going to keep an eye on everything. If she doesn't gain 8 oz every month they will "discuss other options" for gaining weight - which makes Chris and I think they are talking about the tube feedings again (This has been brought up in the past). She is supposed to go in next week for a weight and height check. She has completely stepped up her eating this month, so hopefully she's gained some weight.

Good luck. I hope she gains weight on her own and doesn't end up needing a tube. (((hugs)))

My daughter's GH level is low too. We are going to an enterologist and to a GI pediatrician. I'm a bit nervous. My daughter's height is in the30th percentile but her weight isn't even on the chart.

My daughter is 12 months and 2 weeks ago weighed 15 lbs 9 ounces (she lost weight after suffering from dehydration caused by diarrhea and vomitting). Before that she weighed 16lbs 1 ounce. She is 28.75 inches tall

All of this is pretty stressful. I hope you guys don't have to use a feeding tube. THey haven't mentioned that to us yet. I hope they don't.

Your daughter sounds about the same size as my Anastasia did at that age.
*hugs* mama.
