False positive?

I tested today and got a positive but initially I thought it was negative. Is that normal for the +/- test? Well the pic isn;t all that great, I would take another but my fiancee said it was a false positive and threw it away. I haven't gotten around to getting more test yet but I will probably pick some up tonight and test with FMU tomorrow morning.....

So I did some research and found out that false positives are pretty rare. I thought maybe I left it sitting too long but maybe I was just expecting a negative and when I thought I saw a negative I left it. I only left it for about 5 mins before I looked again. Is that too long? CAn +/- test get evap lines?

They can but generally you can trust anything within 10 minutes AS LONG AS IT HAS COLOR.

Most true evaps are colorless/gray lines.

That looks like a BFP to me!

It's really a mix of emotions because I am so happy and excited but I don't want to be let down! I pretty much know that I won't though! I had a feeling I was and last night I dreamt of getting a positive result and the positive I got looked exactly the same as the one I got in actuality. I know there are many variations of a positive but it's weird!! Thanks everyone!

I just took the same test and got a positive HPT the test wasn't equate it was called Top Care. I hope it is a accurate test I think so. When I took it I didn't think it was positive I thought I might get a negative result let me know what you think my test was taken about 10 days ago. I can still see the control line and test line but it is going one way on the test side but it definitely was a positive test. I went to the doctor and had 2 urine test but were negative when I went my AF was still sorta on and I had bloodwork done that was negative. I don't know what is going on I bought 2 FRER test that I will take tomorrow and I will let you know the results. Thanks for listening and know you are not alone. Baby Dust to us both.

Responding from yesterday about taking 2 FRER took this morning with FMU both were negative. I don't know what is going on but I am not giving up I have been having spoting light pink and brown TMI sorry. My next AF is due February 15 I will see what is going on then. I retested today and got a BFN.

idk what's going on. I still haven't had AF and my symptoms haven't really changed...

I think something is up with these equate +/- tests. I had one look very similar (posted on here). But I THINK mine was after 10 mins when the light pink vertical line showed up. Tested the next morning and got a bfn. Either way, evaps with actual color suck. I don't think I will use the equates in the future. I have one of them left. If AF doesn't show tomorrow I'm going to retest with the last equate I have. If that one shows up with a +, I'm going to retest with another brand regardless of how faint it is.

Have you retested since this? I have equate brand tests that I just bought today. I took one today and It was a BFN but I am not due for AF till the 24th or 25th so I expected a BFN. I was just wondering if you retested with the same test after this time when you got the BFN?

My guess is that month was a negative...since she just got pregnant this last cycle.

You dont always get a postive before AF is due either, this last cycle i didnt get a bfp until the day AF was due, and even then it was so so so so light. it took 4 days before i could even get it to show in a picture.
