(Sorry if too TMI)...This past Friday I was 5w1d and went to the ER with spotting...the doc said my beta was only 50 (after getting my BFP more than a week prior), my cervix was small, and the vag u/s didn't pick anything up...the doc said he was "pretty sure" I was miscarrying...my question is this...when am I going to really start bleeding?...every once in a while when I wipe there is red blood but it seems all I'm passing is old blood (very dark brown) and it isn't heavy...I'm just so ready for this to be over with!!

Hello,
First, do not apologize for the TMI, we love it here!
Second, let me say I'm very sorry to hear you lost your little one! I too, lost my baby at 5 weeks 1 day. I did not know my hCG levels though. All I was told was that they "weren't high enough to support a healthy pregnancy", anyway! For the bleeding, mine began right away, so I can't help you there.
The u/s might not even pick up a pregnancy just yet, seeing as you were so early, it makes sense to barely see anything.
Once again, I'm sorry to hear of your loss and hope you stick around!!

I am sorry the news wasn't good.
I would think the bleeding should start soon. Mine took about a week from when my numbers started dropping. I wish there was a way to tell you exactly what will happen and when, but every miscarriage is different. I hope things move quickly for you and you can TTC again when you are ready.
I also want to say...
to the TTC after loss board...and feel free to jump right in. Everyone here is so nice and will offer help advice and support when you need it most. I love the girls here and can't wait to get to know you too

Very sorry for your loss.
I had no spotting prior to my ultrasound. I went to the gyno for a check-up/ultrasound @ what should have been like 8w5d, and the baby only showed to be 7w2d with no heartbeat. My doctor gave me 3 options, a D&C, to miscarry on my own (which could take up to 8 weeks) or to take misoprostol (to induce the miscarriage). I opted to take the misoprostol because I felt as if I wanted it to all be over so I could begin to TTC again.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss, if you ever need to talk there are lots of willing ladies on this board and they are all great suppurt
About your question I to miscarried at right around 5 weeks and my bleeding never got heavier I had light bleeding for almost a month and was very miserable but the doctor said bleeding that long is normal if it is not heavy, more than one pad an hour, If the bleeding does pick up than it shouldn't take that long and most people even if it remains light don't take that long but it does happen Hopefully yours will be quicker than mine.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, I saw it on the Nov. DDC since I lurk there. I had my m/c at 5w5d, but mine was the opposite. I blead very hard for about a week, and then it was spotting for a week after. Unfortunatly like everyone said it is different for everyone, and I know how shattering it is everytime you go to the bathroom to be reminded of what is going on . If there is anything you need please let me know. Hopefully since you were still under 6w it wont last long. I was told that it usually isn't shorter than a week though.. just like af. Again im so sorry hun.

I'm so sorry for your loss! And I really don't want to scare you, but did they check for an ectopic pregnancy?! If not, I would ask your doctor ASAP! Please feel free to PM me with any questions! HUGS!!

sorry for your loss. i was in the nov ddc too, and i had a m/c at 7 wks. the day i started bleeding, my hcg level was only about 500, and the dr said they should've been in the hundreds of thousands. so i'm guessing that the baby had been lost for at least a few days (which is why my hcg was so low) before i even started bleeding. i'm thinking about a week, and my hcg just kept dropping but i didn't bleed for a while. i had a d&c though, so i cna't say as to how long i would've bled if i had just gone home.
i hope it stops for you soon though, i know it feels awful looking at that blood.

Thank you ladies for all the responses and warm welcomes!
I"m not sure if they checked for an ectopic, but they did do a vag u/s and checked my ovaries and everything...
I'm just worried it's going to take forever for this to clear my system...I'm crampy but nothing worse than doing about 100 crunches at the gym...not even as bad as AF...and my spotting is so light I could probably get away with wearing 1 or 2 panty liners a day...
I'm currently still on vacation so I'm hoping maybe next week when I get back home my doc will have a few more answers for me...
Once again thank you all so much!!

I am sorry for your loss! I look forward to getting to know you. If you need anything, we're here for you. We all have been through what you're going through right now. I m/c a 7w1d and had a D&C, so I don't know how long you'll bleed naturally. I bled pretty bad at the beginning before the D&C and lightly for about 5-6 days after. I hope it is over quickly for you and best of luck ttc.
