Does anyone garden?
I plan to do a lot of gardening this year with my mother. She had a heart attack last year, and was very depressed & the garden didn't get touched! Heck, we didn't even put out our patio furniture!!!
This year, I've already made the vow to plant flowers with her, lay out the turf builder, everything! And I'm very excited!!! I plan to put two decorative pots near our front steps, on either side, and just fill them with flowers! I think it would add the perfect touch to our plain old steps!
I also plan to stain our deck, a darker wood colour. I just want something different, you know??? With the winter being SO flipping long, and draining, I think doing all of this will brighten everything up and make us BOTH feel great about doing it together!
What will you be doing to your garden (if you have one)? Do you have any favourite flowers? Do you have any potted favourites??

I wish I could garden. I am renting and the woman who owns the house has no pirde in it, so i dont really want to make it look better for her to sell it lol. Maybe ill do some above ground stuff like your pots, then I can take them with us when we buy our home this summer!!! My fav are tulips... they are always so happy. Those, and morning Glories.

I love to garden. It is great exercise and you get such a beautiful outcome. Last year I planted about 20 rose bushes and hundreds of plants. I could spend all day at the garden center and then the next planting and I would be a happy camper.

I don't garden, yet. My DH is a HUGE gardening fan. He has lots of plans for us this summer. We've been tilling and getting it all ready for the last couple of weeks, so we'll be green thumbs quite a bit this spring/summer.

I actually just planted flowers this weekend. Home Depot had those old whiskey barrels on sale so I planed a bunch of hardy flowers in there too. I can see it on my deck right now covered in snow I am sure it will be okay though because it was just a dusting and I bought flowers that go down to -20 or below. We've been digging a large whole in front of the house in the fenced off area and are building a green house this year. I am going to have an herb and vegetable garden! I am so excited. We had to put it in the fenced area or the deer would eat everything. I have flowers around the house but I mainly grow just like ground coverage and bushes because the deer always eat my stuff. I'll see that a tulip or strawberry is just about to come out and the next day the whole head is munched off. At least the deer are getting a nice treat LOL

I love to work outside. We live in a guesthouse surrounded by cement. We have one patch of grass by our house and thats it. So, I have TONS of potted flowers. I usually kill about 25%. Thats an improvement. It used to be 75% death rate. I love Lillies, tulips, gerbera daisys. They usually die the quickest. I have a plumeria tree. It has survived a year and is getting ready to bloom. That is sooo exciting! For some reason, I can grow the heck out of lavender. I three HUGE pots that are overflowing lavender. I love the scent. I inherited a few different variety of cactus. They are thriving. Oh, I bought a tomato plant. Its blooming. I am going to have tomatos soon!! yippee!

I love to garden now that we have our own house. I've planted 8 rose bushes, african daisies, petunias, marigolds, some hedges. We also bought a Big Tooth Maple tree in the hill country last year and just planted it. It just got leaves this past week. Yeah! We also made a small veggie garden 2 weeks ago. We planted cucumber, onion, and okra. They are already coming up. I love to watch things grow!!!

We've been doing TONS of it now that we have a house. We put in a huge flower bed on the side of the house and have redone some of the existing flower beds. The backyard is kind of a disaster area right now but eventually we'll try to make it look nice too. It's hard because we have this awful clay soil that if you really want anything to grow, you have to replace with better soil. We didn't have time to put in a real vegetable garden so I've got a few baskets and pots that I am growing some veggies and herbs in. I'll have to post some pics later.

This is the first year I have ever had a yard to actually garden in!!! My hubby and I bought this beautiful house late summer, begining of fall, and it was already beautifully landscaped. Well, I decided to make a little vegtable garden!! I'm planting tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, strawberries, cilantro and oregano.
I'm really really excited to see it bloom and eat fresh fruits and veggies!!!

My parents do. The only way they eat it is fried though, which I like, but I never eat it since I don't reallly fry anything very much.
I'm trying to grow green beans, bell peppers tomatoes, spinich, basil, oregano, catnip and cilantro. (Just a small amount of each.) We'll see how much actually grows. Green beans are easy so I hope at least those work out.

I usually grow a veggie garden every year. And I can my own veggies and relishes etc. I always do tomatoes, breen beans, peppers, zuccini and cucumbers. Some years I do more like herbs and sweet peas. But, we moved from a house in the country to an apartment in the city last month and I have no yard. I have a parking lot in the front and a patio in the back, not ont patch of grass. I can do potted flowers, but thats it. It really makes me sad. That is one of my favorite hobbies.
