Well, I guess it's on to next month. The only thing good about this cycle being so long is that my dh should be back from his trip in time to get some quality bd'ing in!!!
My only question for you charting experts is this...if FF is right and I O'd on CD27, that means my LP was only 9 days this month, which is way too short, isn't it?? Should I call my doctor and talk to him or since this was my first month charting, maybe see what next months chart looks like? I am also going to buy a bunch of OPK's off ebay so that I can take a ton of them this month and hopefully not miss my surge. Any advice on brands???
So girls, sounds like Bobbie and I can keep the busy together for a few days...go get those BFPs!!!!

That sucks! Stupid witch.
I would agree to do OPK's because that will tell you for sure. I would wait to see what this month does before calling the doc. Maybe ff is wrong. I know it moved my O date 3 times and was driving me crazy.
Wasn't Shannon talking about some things she is doing with heating pads and green tea to extend her luteal phase?

oh Melanie, I am so sorry!!! I hate that stinkin' witch!
But it sounds like it will work out after all with DH and you scheduling some quality BD'ing time!
I would chart one more month and then call your doctor. However, I'm not the one to ask b/c I didn't even make it thru a month. I am determined however, to go buy a BBT when AF arrives and stick with temping this month!
I just ordered a big batch of OPKs and Preg tests on ebay, and I also ordered some more Pre-seed. I"m not sure what brands I bought though??? Maybe someone else can help out.
Good luck!! I hope we both get our BFPs next month.

GRRR dumb witch! But now we are cycle buddies!!!!!!!!! And we will be in the same DDC!
About the LP... I don't think FF always knows what it is doing. Try getting the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility if you don't have it. Temps are just one small part of the big picture so I wouldn't worry too much that your temp alone gave you the O date. Your LP may be just perfect..and it may be FF that is wacky
Sooooo.... what ya gonna try this cycle? How about some Robitussin? 8 glasses of water? Grapefruit juice? UMM Vitamin E? (That one seems to have done the trick for me... or it was just coincinence LOL)
I am going to find something new to try too.... I may just make sure I drink the 8 glasses of water. I am usually pretty good about it... but.. I may just keep track.
Here's to healthy BFP's in about 4 weeks!

I wouldn't worry about it since it's just one cycle and you aren't totally sure about the O date. Also, the month before I got my BFP, I had a 9 day luteal phase (the only time that has happened). Mine usually ranges from 11 to 12 days, with a few times it has been shorter than that. The things I was doing to lenghten it are found in the book "The Infertility Cure" and the main things are to change your diet (eat warming foods, more legumes, raspberries, walnuts, black beans, wild rice, corn, wheat germ, wheat grass and some others I can't remember (I try to just make foods that have some of these things in them more often), also I drink room temp water rather than ice cold, and apply a heating pad on your abdomen for about 10 minutes before ovulation only. The idea is that progesterone is a warming hormone (which is why your temp rises after O) and if you have a short luteal phase that means your body is out of balance and these things work to restore the balance. I did slack off on the heating pad this month because I freaked out and thought it was making me ovulate really early but my temps were just weird. Anyway, the past two months I got luteal phases of 14 days and 13 days. This month yet to be determined.
I would use OPKs this cycle and continue temping.

Melanie, I think that you should chart another month. It may have been a fluke. I think that a short luteal phase is only a problem its every month. I typically have a 12 day phase. I had atleast one month last year that my phase was like 10days.

Hey Melanie! Okay, I hate to be the worry wort, but I acknowledge that I am one, so take this for what it's worth.
My only concern is that if you get your BFP next month, and you do have a LPD, you will want to be on progesterone a few days after you O. I don't know, just a thought I had. And, again, I am a little paranoid....
Anyhow sweetie, I am excited for you for next month, I hope this is going to be your month!! Glad to know you will plenty of opportunity to catch your little eggie!

Just wanted to let you ladies know that I appreciate your advice. I am going to go ahead and temp this next month and I am going to buy some OPK's in bulk so that I can take more than 1 per day (I can't afford more than 1 per day if I buy them at Walmart...$12/7 tests!!!)
Anyways, I am hoping that this is my month to catch the eggie, but if it's not, or if my LP is still short, I will definitely be making an appt to have a chat with my doctor.
Oh, and Bobbie, I think I am going to take the water challenge. I am not usually too good at drinking enough water, so I will try to do better this month
Thanks again ladies! I don't know what I'd do without you!!!
