Well, Wednesday was my edd for the baby I m/c. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do as a memorial. The day was pretty hard, I cried alot. I do feel better now though that I got past that point. I remembered that last year about a week after my m/c we went on vacation to the hill country here in Texas. I've always wanted a Big Tooth Maple tree, and dh bought us one for our new house. Well, I didn't really think much about it then being something to remember baby by. We planted it about 3 weeks ago. Just last week it started budding and this past weekend the leaves bloomed out. I thought Tuesday as I was looking at it, that will be my baby's memorial. It is something that will grow that I can see everyday. I can nurture it and it will always be with me (we don't plan on moving for a very long time). We put a little fence around it so the dogs don't pee on it. Is this wierd that it made me feel more at peace? I didn't even tell dh about my idea. He'll just say I'm crazy! Anyway, just wanted to let someone know who might understand what I'm feeling!! I love all my JM friends here!

Michelle,

Its perfect!!!! Beautiful in every way. Im so happy that you found that one thing that fits just right. Like you said, as it blooms and you see the beauty in it, you will always be reminded of your precious angel. Im so happy, and I think DH might just understand that it holds a special place in your heart

I think that's a wonderful idea.

When I put up my memorial statue, I didn't tell Dh I was doing it, I just did it. I showed it to him but he didn't say too much. So it's "my thing" and that's okay.

I'd like to see a pic! I'm sure it is a beautiful tree.

Thanks ladies. Here's a pic, Shannon! The good thing is that it's still a "baby" tree. I loved your angel statue, too. I thought of that, but couldn't find anything like it.

Sorry it's sideways. I tried to fix that, but I guess it didn't work! Oh well!

What a cute little tree! I love maples, not sure I have seen one quite like that though, I like it.

Good call on the fence so the dogs don't pee on it.

Yea, I'm not sure why theres no leaves midways yet. But the buds are there, so it'll probable spring open soon.
