I'm so mad right now that I dont even know what to think anymore. I filled out this survey on myspace today and one of the questions was have you bought any clothes this last week and I answered yes, I bought a pair of maturnity pants because none of my jeans fit anymore. I cant even button them up and even when I use the rubber band trick they are still very uncomfortable. Well someone who I thought was a friend of mine who is also pg and due in june wrote me this in responce to my answer.....
ok there mommy take it easy, u should not have to be in maternity pants just yet! thats not "baby" belly thats just belly! don't rush it there love once u get that baby belly it will be more then enough u wont want to gain anymore weight as i'm sure u know....lol
but I woudln't really be wanting people to know that when your baby is what the size of a pea!
so happy for you love I know u have been waiting but just give it time.
I'm so P'ed off right now. To me is wasnt called for for her to respond to me with that. Pretty much everyone that's going to read the survey is people who know me very well so I'm not worred about who knows what I wrote. I'm sorry to be venting about this here but I feel so much closer to you girls then the girls at my DDC board. Am I thinking to much about what she wrote? I havent responded back to her because I am afraid I'm going to say something mean and I dont want to do that but I still cant believe she wrote that to me. Thankx for listening to me vent. You guys are the best.

Angie, that would totally p*ss me off, too. That was rude. You can vent to us anytime. I surely don't mind. I love hearing from you. Some people need to learn to keep their mouths shut if they can't say something nice. Who cares what she thinks? If you want to buy maternity clothes before you were pg, then that's not her business either. Arggg!! That makes me so mad that she said that to you. We love you, don't worry about them silly people!

Grr... Im sure you will handle it better than I would but Id tell her to kiss off (understating ALOT), that it is none of her D@M business how fast your body is growing, and if she doesnt have something nice to say the shut the heck up. TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR!!! Tell her... just because you are going the healthy route, and she is possibly deciding to not go the same route doesnt mean you are unhealthy or even nearing being overweight. First trimester you gain about 5lbs, and I know if I gained that there is no way on gods green earth id fit my pants. people like this make me mad... she should just be happy, and not squash your changing body.
Im glad that you are moving up it makes it more fun moving into the PG clothes since tey are sooo much more comfy.

Thankx I guess she just feels the need to let me know what its like to be pg. This will be her 3rd. There was a time when she was first pg that she asked me to go baby shopping with her and I told her no thankx. It was hard for me at the time because Mike and I were trying so hard and she wrote this long email to me about how she felt I was wrong for being upset and not wanting to go and how she felt I felt like the baby she was pg with should have been mine. It upset me even more that she would think that way about me. It was a happy for you sad for me kind of thing the way I felt. So we've been through stuff like this before but then I made sure to clear things up but this time I dont even have the energy to deal with it. Even Mike said not to respond to it and let her think what she wants.
ETA: I got weighed in Dec. and I was between 150-155 and when I went last wednesday I was about 158 so I havent gained much at all since finding out I was pg so I dont know why she would bring that up.

Wow! What a jerk! In my second pregnancy I had to wear maternity jeans by like 7 or 8 weeks! And I was actually losing weight! I can't believe they would say that to you!!

I agree with Mike. It doesn't sound to me like she's a very good friend for saying either of those things. You are too sweet to have to deal with people like that.

With my first I tried to wait a really long time to go into maternity clothes and when I finally did I couldn't believe I'd been so stubborn. They are so much more comfortable!! Whether its baby, bloating or whatever....I'm gonna so be in those maternity jeans in a second next time! Point is...do what makes you feel good, pamper that belly, and ignore people who try to rain on your parade! Congrats on the baby belly!!!

Angie.... You seriously need to lose that girl. Friends like that aren't really friends and I would go cold turkey with that one. Just never talk to her again. Life is too short to be surrounded with people like that. I used to have friends who said and did things like she does and I have to say it's so much nicer to be surrounded by loving caring people than people who are self centered you know whats
I am so mad just reading what she wrote. And don't worry one bit about your baby bump... or the size of your bean. There are LOTS of other things going on in there than just how much the baby is weighing. Increased blood volume, amniotic sac...etc. And some women just show earlier. Maybe she is jealous?
I say buy those maternity clothes and wear them proud! Enjoy every minute of pregnancy...it goes by so fast. I think you are lucky that you are showing early

What a jerk! Has anyone told her that every pregnancy is VERY different and that if you are uncomfortable in the jeans you have on, that is none of her business! What a jerk, I wouldn't let her bother you. You do what's best for you and your baby. That woman really doesn't have any tact!

oh hun, I am sorry she was so rude!!! yes, every pg is different, I didn't show at all with the 1st 2, not that they lasted that long. But with the 3rd I was so bloated from the ER that as soon as I saw that 2nd line I switched to maternity pants. There was NO WAY I could even stand my regular pants even after a few weeks.

Oh Angie, I would be upset too. You are so nice to not respond to it though, because I know I would have let her have it. As you know I am only about 4 weeks and I confess "i am wearing maternity pants right now". lol Seriously, the truth is for me is it is all bloat, plus since Abby and the year of ttc I have put weight on and all my old jeans were a little snug then, but now they just aren't comfy. I also told dh and my mom last night, that this will be the happiest "fat" ever and I told them I am on a mission...I want the preggo belly as quickly as possible. I loved rubbing my preggo belly and am already starting. So you just keep wearing your maternity clothes with pride! Those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind!

WHAT!!! oh i hate it when people say things like that!! i actually get soo flustered!! i recently had a bit of a fall out with a girl in a chat room because she said that you can only ttc when you are married... mind you she had 2 kidz already and her first one was conceived merely weeks before she got married and she picked on me!!! then she got all her friends to pick on me too, i didnt say anything nasty i just said good night and that i was interested in talking to childish hormonal women. and i left, the next day i had emails from some other girls say they had stood up for me and given this other women a mouthful
you know, i understand that some people have been there, done that, bought the tshirt but please!!!! i want to do this for myself!! who cares if thats not a baby belly yet!!! who cares if im 4 months away from my wedding and i will have a bump or extra fat to stuff into my dress!! I WANT TO DO IT MY WAY!! you know what i mean????
anyway hun, i totally understand what you are saying!! i was bearly 8 wks and i had a pair of maternity jeans because i had put on and didnt fit into my jeans and you know what!! I DONT CARE!! I WILL MOVE MY PREGNANT BODY!!
ok i had a bit of a vent to.... oops lol

um, wth???
who writes or says that??? would she say to someone (who wasn't pg) wow that's a belly you have there! why say it to you just cuz you're pg? especially if you're "friends." RUDE.
if you decide to respond (i know i'd be itching to lol) i'd probably say something like "you're right, not everyone can be as thin and perfect as you are. i will return the pants this weekend." she may or may not get the sarcasm lol.

Let me at her! I am itching to ream someone a new booty hole! How dare someone say something like that. Yeah, she may have thought it, but, she shouldn't have said it. Everyone is different. I personally wear my clothes on the loose side. If they begin to feel tight I have to change sizes. So, did she want you to buy a new wardrobe for wks 4-12? And then you could buy maternity clothes? WTH! I would just tell her that is her opinion, but that she knows what everyone says about opinions...

Wow. If she was trying to be funny, that is so far from funny, it's not even, um, funny. I'm only 4w3d and I had to buy mat clothes last night because my pants are already too big on me, and my only other mat clothes are for the summer.

Wow how rude! Everyone differs on when they gain weight, bloat or just start to pop. Even if you had just gained a bunch of weight already she shouldn't have said that. I agree you wear what you are comfortable in, enjoy having a bump to show off!

Wow! How rude! I'd wear those maternity pants and be proud! Don't even waste more breath on her, I wouldn't respond even though I would really want to tell her off.
ps. Try the bella band. They are awesome!

At 11 weeks I had to finally suck it up and wear maternity pants. I could wear my regular jeans but when I got home I walked around with them unbuttoned because it was sooooo uncomfortable. Then at my 12 week appointment my ob said in a surprised tone, "Oh you are already wearing maternity jeans." Then she did the sono and told me that our little one was a "big" baby. And I thought...HA HA. Everybody is different. My mom wore regular jeans until her 8th month with me. She didn't gain a pound until then...then gained 45lbs. Lose her as a friend...real friends wouldn't say something like that!!
