My dr. told me that there is no waiting time on trying again... that anything I read was just a random timeline made up by someone who felt there needed to be answer when asked. I understand that some drs advise waiting depending on how long the pregnancy lasted.

How long did you wait before trying again?

Not sure of your situation, but I had an ectopic preg. Had to have surgery to remove, and my right tube along with it

My doctor told me we could start TTC after my first period following surgery. So, we waited about a month. My period came back right on schedule despite the surgery.

I also read 3 months, but since my doctor said I didn't have to, we didn't.

We are currently TTC (I should be ovulating anytime now).

Good Luck.

I lost my son at 17 weeks, I delivered him on January 26th. My doctor was concerned that I had a blood clotting disorder as I had severe preeclampsia with my first son and then lost my second son in the second trimester. She ran blood work and when everything came back clear she told me that DH and I could TTC whenever we were ready. Well We just started TTC this cycle which was my first normal cycle since I delivered Saul. I felt emotionally ready and so did DH. I am currently waiting for AF to arrive to see if I'm PG. Good luck with TTC as you know it's an interesting journey.

I may not be a good example but this is my 3rd pregnancy in a row so I guess I don't wait at all. I figure if my body is ready to get pregnant it will get pregnant again. I don't see any need to wait unless there is risk of infection due to a late loss or D&C and that is during the active bleeding periods which you probably aren't going to O in anyway. Good luck!

I had a m/c and D&C in November and my doctor advised me to wait 1 cycle to allow for due date calculations and to allow the endometrial tissue time to fully heal. It was really hard, but we did wait...unfortunately we are now in our 4th month TTC, so hopefully it will be soon!!!

I also believe that you won't get pregnant if you aren't ready, so if your doctor didn't advise for you to wait and if you and dh both feel comfortable with that, then go for it!!!

I'm new around here, but this thread has really raised my spirits. I'm still going through my loss, and I wasn't sure when I should start to try again. Thank you ladies for sharing. Hearing your thoughts has really helped me out.

I am very sorry for your loss...

We tried right away... My doctor also said that it was basically up to me. If I felt emotionally and physically ready to, then go ahead. The only thing is that b/c of no LMP date, they will likely use the gestational age from the u/s if you do get pg right away.

Best of Luck to you and KUP!

Thanks so much for your replies and for sharing your stories. I think we'll wait until after the first cycle.
It's nice to be able to ask these questions here!
