Hi everyone

Im new here. I m/c at 12 weeks on Sat April 5 and had d & e procedure on Thurs APril 10. Doc told me to wait 2 weeks before resuming relations but my husband and I dtd last night. Do you think that may cause any complications as I am still bleedings slightly? I also know that after such a procedure it is very easy to get pg again, do you think maybe it is too soon. I have my follow up appt next Wed for the surgery and I am scared to learn of the test results they did (if they are back)

What do you think?

Hello and

I am Melanie and I had a m/c at 9 weeks in November along with a D&C. I am glad that you found us...this is a great group of fun, supportive women!

As far as dtd last night, I would imagine it is probably okay. Did your doctor suggest you wait any length of time before TTC again or no? Mine suggested I wait 1 cycle, but not everyone's does.

Do you know what tests they did? I just ask because my doctor didn't really do any since it was my first m/c.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Hello...I m/c at 5w1d but did not have a D&C...

beyond TTC too soon after a m/c I've heard you are at a higher risk for infection if you DTD too soon...I would say you are ok as long as the bleeding doesn't increase and you don't develop a fever...just monitor yourself...you know yourself better than any doc and you will be able to tell if something isnt right...

Sorry for your loss but I'm glad you found this board...these ladies are the best!

Hello and Welcome!

I'm very sorry to hear that you lost your baby!!!

I m/c at 5 weeks 1 day, but had a natural m/c. I can only assume that your doc told you to wait 2 weeks before DTD so that you don't get an infection and whatnot. This wait time IS a scary one, because you don't want to do anything to jeopardize your body. I can completely understand your worries right now!!!

I hope if you do get the tests results back, that they are GOOD results for you and DH!

Sending lots of your way!!!!

Welcome. I wont be much help, but I do think they gave you that info to prevent any type of infection. I hope it turns out for the best. I dont think it is much to worry about tho.

I was so sad to hear that you were leaving the DDC, but I am very glad that you ended up here. These are some awesome ladies!! I would not worry too much about dtd unless your body tells you otherwise. I hope that you heal fast and your next journey on the TTC rollercoaster has a happier ending.

I am sorry for your loss.

I DTD two days after a D&C, so I am sure you are fine. I am not a strong believer in *being more fertile after a m/c* I think it is just the opposite, but that's just me

Anyways..... I am glad you found us over here!

Welcome to TTCAL!

Hi & Welcome. I am so sorry to hear you lost your little one I am glad you found your way here. The ladies are so great and supportive. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Oh and I wouldn't worry too much dtd too early, you're probably fine and the doc should be following up with your progress anyway. HUGS

Welcome.

I had a m/c at 5w, naturally, and I was advised to wait one full cycle. But he said it was for dating purposes only, you aren't jeopardizing anything by TTC or DTD earlier then that. With that said I think the 2ww is for infection.

I don't think I could have said it better. That is exactly what my doctor said. Big Hugs and Welcome to the room.
