Morning Ladies!

Well I had my appointment this morning, it was pretty uneventful. My peri doesn't think I need to start the lovenox (which he'll prescribe instead of heparin) until I get a positive hpt, and they weren't inclined to do that right now since I'm only 9dpo. I'm supposed to call the nurse as soon as that happens, and they'll phone in my prescription. He'll start me off on 40mg of Lovenox a day (at least that was my understanding). He doesn't seem to think that being heterozygous FVL is that big of a deal. He didn't suggest that I even need to see a Hematologist, as he can monitor my dosage and check my blood work himself every couple weeks once I start the lovenox. I was given a presentation on how to give myself the shots by his nurse. My protime is fine right now, so other than while pg he doesn't think I need to worry about this except to be aware of the warning signs of clots and that it wouldn't hurt to take a regular aspirin a day (if I'm not ttc, but for the time being take the baby aspirin). He didn't have anything extra to tell me, that I hadn't already read in my on-line research. And that was pretty much the conclusion of my visit. I guess I didn't really expect a whole lot more, but then again..... I didn't know what to expect at all.

So anyway, just waiting for that bfp. In the meantime, I did poas this morning. I woke up at 4:30, from a peeing dream, so I went in and figured why not poas too. I was kinda hoping that if I went in to the dr w/ a faint positive that they would run a bHCG, but no luck It's still really early, so I'm not depressed yet, technically af isn't due for 5 days (give or take).

Thank you ladies!

Well, I tested this morning, like I had first been planning (well actually had planned to test tomorrow, as that's when I thought the wedding was, but I was mistaken). Again.

I really do think I'm pg though, I have all of the signs and symptoms that I always get. I have excema and skin discoloration under my bottom lip (I jokingly call it my skin goatee), I'm breaking out all over, I have extremely dry lips although i'm drinking h2o like a horse, I have those pinchy feelings around my ovaries (stretching feeling most people feel), tmi but my bowel habits always change and they definitely have. I'm irritable, and have no patience for ALL the little things that I don't like about people but don't usually annoy me, I'm waking up at 4 or 5 having to pee when I can usually sleep till the alarm, and everything in the world sounds good to eat. ) If I have all of this, and don't get my bfp, I'm going to think I'm losing my mind and it's a possible chemi because these are all my usual symptoms.

Come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Technically still 4 days till the witch is due though.

It sounds like your dr. is doing the best. I was told to take a BA while I was ttc and then once I got my bfp I started 40mg of Lovenox. The injections aren't really that bad but it does leave some bruises. After the first week you will find a way that works best for you. The idea of Lovenox at 40mg a day is it will keep you from getting clots. If you already have clots they give you a higher dose. The BA stays in your system for up to 2 weeks is what I was just told yesterday. Lovenox only stays in your system for 24 hours. Towards the end of pregnancy they may switch you to heparin because if you go into labor unexpectedly then they can reverse the effects of heparin but can't with Lovenox. This is what I learned at the hematologist yesterday.

I know they said you may not need a hematologist, but personally I would suggest it. They should test you for all clotting factors and usually if you have one it is common to have more than one. That is what I found out anyways.

Good luck and I hope you get that bfp soon!!

I am taking Lovenox now, I still don't know what the names of my disorders are called! The first chance I get to ask my doctor, I will be. We probably have the same thing. Don't you feel a bit more in control now?
