So, the tech saw a yolk sac. She said she didn't understand how the emerge doctor couldn't see it because it was RIGHTTHERE..y'know?

The gestational sac is measuring right on schedule, 6w2d. She said the sac does not show any signs of a molar or partial molar pregnancy. Apparently that can be told pretty much right away with a molar pregnancy, so that was good news. Ectopic is also ruled out...yay!!

Unfortunately, there was not a fetus. She couldn't tell me if it was possible to have a blighted ovum with a yolk sac, but I don't think you can. I've only ever heard it as being a gestational sac with no other signs of a baby developing, like, a completely empty gestational sac.

I'm not too worried though. I didn't see Zoe until 6w4d, and even then, her heartbeat was slow. By 8 weeks, it had picked up. So, the radiologist recommended that I come back in a week, and I should be able to see something more by then. Keep us all in your thoughts and prayers!! Another update to come tonight!!

As for the breast lump, family doc is scheduling an ultrasound for that.

don't worry, sweetie, at least the yolk sac is measuring right on time! When is your next u/s? Hoping for wonderful news!!

Just FYI you CAN have a b/o that started out with a yolk sac, that's what the one I m/c'd in Feb was. when I went in at 6w5d (they day they SHOULD have found BOTH babies ), it was measuring a week behind then. By 12w it completely disappeared, leaving an empty sac that had kept growing.

I'm so sorry to hear of the blighted ovum.

I refuse to give up hope. I'm clinging on. I didn't see Zoe until 6w4d anyway. Thank you for letting me know about the b/o w/ y/s. I appreciate when people are honest and realistic, rather than sugar coat things.

I know in my heart everything will be fine though.

That is such GREAT news, I am sure it brings alot of relief, whew!!

Its still early, and because you are on your 4th pregnancy, your uterus/gestational sac can measure farther along than you are. I hope in a few days yousee a healthy baby!!!
