He said that normally with a gestational sac that big, we can see a fetus and a heartbeat, and my ultrasound is indicating a blighted ovum right now, but he doesn't want to jump to conclusions, considering the sac was right on schedule and the fact that I didn't even see my daughter until 6w4d. So, I have another ultrasound scheduled for Friday at 12:30pm and I see him again on Friday at 7:30pm.

Man, you sure are on a rollar coaster ride of emotions. I hope that your little one shows up on Friday u/s. HUGS

edited to ask, so then your doc said that you can have a blighted ovum even though you have a yolk sac? I am just curious because both my blighted ovums didn't have a yolk sac so I wasn't sure if that was still possible...

gestational sac is how big your uterus is right?

This is my 4th pregnancy, and my sac this pregnancy has always been alot bigger than it should, So i dont agree, I think everything could still be perfectly fine, since this isnt your first pregnancy, your body knows what to do and is doing it faster.

I hope you get great news on friday!!

Apparently it is possible to have a blighted ovum with a yolk sac, according to him. As for my gestational sac, it was measuring right on schedule, 6w2d. It's also my fourth pregnancy.

I asked him if it was possible for a gestational sac to measure right on schedule but for the baby to be a little behind, and he avoided the question by saying that usually with the sac that big you can see a fetus and heartbeat, but stranger things have happened and to wait until the next ultrasound.

In my mind and in my heart, I know there's a least one baby in there, so even if Friday doesn't show a fetus, I'll refuse to terminate. If there isn't one, then I'll attempt to let it pass on my own, but I will refuse to terminate before 10 weeks if nothing shows.

I don't know why Doctors are so quick to jump to conclusions. It's still so early. I will keep you and baby in my T&P. I hope everything is ok.
