Okay I think a few of you are like me and are drinking green tea to help with your CM. Well I know I had heard it was bad to drink in the 2ww but I wasn't sure why. I thought maybe it was because of the caffeine but I got around that by getting it decaf.

Well I've acutally started liking the stuff and since I'm always cold it helps to keep me warm too. But I did some research and it turns out you are not supposed to drink green tea when you are pregnant. Something in the green tea reduces the efficacy of folic acid, which is very important in preventing neural tube defects in the first month after conception.

So from now on I'm not going to drink it in the 2ww in case I get pregnant.

Just thought I would pass that along for the others that drink green tea.

Shannon,

I LOVED green tea also.....but had read some not so good things about it when Pg. so I stopped immediately.
Actually MANY herbal teas are considered a No - no when Pg.
they sound great, but really need to be looked into.

thanks for posting the info for the board !
