hmm I posted something here but nothing showed

Anyways af was due on the 23rd its not here yet, I took a test and I had 2 lines, one was so very faint I thought maybe its an evap line, so I am retseing as soon as I get a chance to go to the store, I am wishing and hoping its positive, but dh and I just were promotoed to a ne job and he is worried that if I get preggo it may affect our promotion and what not, they can't hold it against me right? I mean, they can't say b/c I am pregnant I can't do my job right? I am kinda nervous now and if I am preggo how long do I have to tell them??? I am at a loss here I seriously don't know what to do, after he said that he also mentioned how I should be on birth control, omg I haven't been on birth control for a few years... I want a baby and I want to keep this job its awesome... HELP!!!

i cant see them being able to hold it against you. its not like you are 8 months pregnant and have to go on maternity leave as soon as you start!
personally i would hold off telling them for a little while after starting just to make sure but iimo if they didnt ask if you were ttc then why should you have told them?
good luck hun, hope you get your bfp and your promotion
xx

It's against the law for them to discriminate based on pregnancy. However I still wouldn't tell them for awhile, because proving discrimination based on something like that is really difficult, and sometimes can be dismissed as at-will employment (i.e. you are employed at their will, and can be let go w/out an excuse). It's messed up, but does happen. So...... just keep it your secret around work. Which stinks, but it's better than taking a chance on the alternative. Sorry!

OH, and I forgot to say CONGRATS on the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Ladies I will let you all know as soon as I know for sure... I looked into the labour laws and if you get preggo after employment started then they can't hold it against you, and besides if I am I wont be going off work till end of December anyways so i can rest easy I think and keep hoping that this is it!!!!!

I hope it is a BFP! I agree that if I were you I would just hold off telling your boss for a bit if possible.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your BFP!!!

You're right, you cannot be discriminated against for being pregnant. If they do, or you perceive that they do they will be in BIG TROUBLE. Don't sweat it. Focus on sticky vibes!

Good luck with your BFP!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and I'm sure that wasn't an evap line.

I agree that you shouldn't stress yourself too much about work. I don't think they can legally hold a pregnancy against you, and if you're enough of an asset to be promoted I don't see why your employer would jeopardize losing you!

I don't know what state you are in, but I'm almost positive that it's ilegal to discriminiate just because you are preg, is most if not all states.

Oh yeah, and wait to tell them

Congratulations!!!

I agree with the other ladies, hold off for as long as you can in telling your boss that you're preggo. They can't fire you for being pregnant!

Lots of sticky dust heading your way!!!!
