hi ladies, i usually lurk in here but i am in need of some advice. i have had a few losses but my most recent was an ectopic. i had to have the methotrexate jab in march and ive been told i cant ttc untill 3 months after the jab...that makes it june.
what i am wondering is, has anyone else tried ttc after the methotrexate and/or an ectopic? im worried my tube may be damaged or something and i wont be able to get pregnant when the time comes for us to ttc xxx

I'm sorry for your losses. I don't know anything about ectopics, but I hope one of the other ladies can help you.

hi kate hun, sorry to see you over here too
i dont have any experience of eptopic but wanted to say i only have one tube and ovary and can still conceive so try not to worry too much. also you could speak to your doc and see if they could check to make sure everything is ok ready for ttc again.
good luck hun

Hi Kate, and welcome! I'm terribly sorry for you losses, but glad you decided to start posting! I post but usually spend most of my time lurking too, mostly because I'm shy though. Anyway, I don't have any experience with ectopic p/g or even the shot, I'm sorry I can't be helpful. I hope one or two of the other ladies can though!

Anyways, I don't have much advice as far as ectopics, but just wanted to send you some dust for when you are able to TTC again!
Now, don't go into hiding again Stay out here and play with us!! It's fun, I promise!

thank you all for your replies, you are all so lovely
i wouldnt wish it on anyone either. its been my hardest loss (it s my 4th) as i had to take the babies life before it took mine i spent over 2 weeks having hcgs done, they werent doubling, very low and slow rising and it turned out it was in my ovary. the methotrexate left me ill and tierd for weeks after. and im currently on antibiotics for a infection in the site where they gave it to me.....it seems never ending. i still cry about it now, its very hard. and i feel like coming up to june is dragging too, im not allowed to ttc til then xxx

ive gained like 14lbs!! ive managed to lose 8lbs though so far but i dont get how i put it on when after i first had the jab i didnt feel like eating for about a week after, and i was nil by mouth the whole time i was in hospital
i do have a question though, and im sorry to ask, but i know they tell you to wait 3 months before getting pregnant again as the methotrexate is still in your system, but how do they actually know when it HAS gone out of your body

I have no idea how they know its gone They didnt test me or anything.. and i have myself been wondering if that may have caused my loss? I guess its just a guidline? The chances of getting preg in the first month TTC are quite small so by the next cycle it would definately be gone! Im sure you will be fine next pregnancy...Good Luck!!
Isnt it weird the weight gain thing!! its like adding a second punch in the face LOL they should add it to the list of nasty side affects.....I myself have lost none of my gained weight

Hi Kate,
I am so sorry for your loss. I had an ectopic in Feb., but i had surgery and not the shot. I lost my left tube, but just managed to get pregnant our first time trying after the loss. (Am right now cautiously expecting, will know more in a couple of weeks after an ultrasound) I think that you definitely need to wait the three months with the shot...this should be enough time for any scar tissue to heal as well which should decrease the chances of another ectopic. I found a website called ectopic pregnacy trust. It is out of the uk and has lots of info and great message boards. It even has a three month wait thread. The emotions around EP's are really intense and it is a great place to get questions answered and meet women going through the same thing. This board is also great, but that one is more specific to EP's.
It does get better...but takes time. I wish you all the luck in your healing from this loss.
