Hi...I'm not sure if I mentioned but my best friend found out she is expecting shortly after I m/c (seems to be a common trend here, huh?) Anyway, she has funky long cycles so by her lmp she would be 8 weeks, but judging by when she got positive hpts her and I guessed 6-7 weeks. Well, she has had a tiny bit of spotting (she says she doesn't even need a liner) these past few days. They did an ultrasound today and measured her at 6 weeks 1 day but couldn't find a fetal heartbeat. I know there have been some threads about this situation on here lately. Please offer up some hope that I may pass on to her! Oh, they also took blood but she didn't realize she could call a demand her #'s so she has to wait till they do a second set on Sunday. Thanks ladies!!

im so sorry to hear she is going through this
i had bleeding in pregnancy and they couldnt find the heartbeat in my 6 week scan but i had another at 10 weeks (started bleeding clots and i was very ill) but they found her pounding away in there and now shes a healthy happy 3 yr old.
i hope your friend has the same positive outcome. i will keep her in my thoughts and prayers
xx

I had this problem recently. I went into the dr.'s and they said that I had a yolk sac and fetal pole measuring 6w3d, but there was no hb. I couldn't believe that because of when I got the bfp. So I went in 2 days later for another u/s and still the same thing. They tested my numbers and they were rising, but not doubling. So I went to the ER 3 days later and they found the hb. 4 days later I started bleeding (the day after dtd) and got another u/s and there was a hb and everything looked great and the baby was only measuring 6w2d, so I don't know how they decide all of that. The spotting stopped and so far so good. Oh and the dr.s' even wanted to tell me to get a d&c because according to my LMP I should have been 9-10 weeks.

When did your friend get her + hpt? Is she a poasa? I hope that her dates are just off a little and will get good news from the hcg soon. Waiting to find out is the hardest part.

Thanks ladies. Sounds like she won't know anything until Monday and then has another ultrasound Friday. I'm on pins and needles. We wanted to be pregnant together.....not have loss in common! It helps that I can tell her some of you haven't seen a heartbeat until after 6 weeks. Hope thats the case for her.
