Hi Everyone,

I recently found out that I had a blighted ovum and had a D&C done. My dr told me to wait at least one cycle before trying again, but I don't want to listen. She told me the only reason they do that is so they can date it correctly. I know that with my dd they had to use u/s to date the pregnancy because I hadn't received my period after ds. I am truly ready to try again. Did anyone else have a D&C and try right away?

Thanks
Crystal

I'm will not be much help to your question since I had a d&c but we had to wait 2 cycles. I heard of many people that start trying right away, got preg and had health y babies. So good luck to you and welcome!

Im sorry for your loss.

I think that besides the dating reason, with a d&c youre more suceptable to infection since they had to go in and remove everything and dialate your cervix. also it gives your uterine lining a chance to build back up so that the next baby can implant appropriately.

I had a natural m/c at 5 weeks and doc told me to go ahead and try again the next month. We did and conceived again but m/c again at 5 weeks. Now I'm told to wait 2 cycles. I asked if conceiving right away could have caused my second m/c and the doctor says she doesn't think so. Seems like every doc has a different opinon on this one. Good luck with your decision and TTC!

With my 14w m/c I had a D&C. I was told to wait one cycle... I didn't listen... and didn't get PG. I am pretty sure I didn't even O before the first AF.

Do what you feel is best for you

I had a D&C back in November, and my doctor recommended I wait 1 cycle. When I went in for my check-up, I pretty much begged him if I could go ahead and TTC right away. He explained that after a D&C, it is best to wait to allow the endometrial tissue to fully heal. So, as much as I didn't want to, I decided to go ahead an wait that 1 cycle.

Just wanted to give you my personal experience. I hope that helps...

g/l whichever way you decide to go

I had a natural m/c and was told to wait one cycle. I really wanted to TTC right away, but decided to wait to give my body a chance to fully recover and get back to normal. I'm now on CD 3. Good luck!!

Thanks so much everyone. I really appreciate it. It's so nice not to be judged. I have been doing a lot of reading and it seems like each way has it's pros and cons. I'm not planning on trying really hard this month, but I don't plan on protecting either. I really appreciate your advice!

Thanks much,
Crystal
