So, today I ran into an acquaintance whom I haven't seen in several weeks. She was asking about Cameron and I told her that he feels well, keeps busy with his laptop/games, school and picking on his sister. I made a comment like he tries to make her upset at least one more time each day than the day before. Her response: "I bet she wishes he was dead." ***! I just walked away. I couldn't even talk to my best friend at work about it without sobbing. I have never been so offended and horrified in my life.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Oh Lord!!! Is there any chance she didn't realize what she was saying? Didn't know the situation? I'm soooooo sorry!! That was so very thoughtless and tasteless of her!!

I'm about in tears just thinking about it. Wish I could give you !!!

I suppose she could have been oblivious. She definately knows what has been going on, I've worked with her husband for almost 10 years and she had signed Cameron's caringbridge site.

I'd say just chalk it up to thoughtlessness and foot-in-mouth disease. So unless she's an awful person, I'd bet that she's positively mortified after she realized what she'd said. Doesn't make you feel any better though, huh. I'm still sorry, and amazed at how tactless people can be without even realizing it! I know I've accidently done my fair share of shoving my foot in my mouth. Let me amend that though, I've never said anything quite that awful.

I'll come back and type something when I've calmed down.

Honestly Lori, just....wow.

*****

Okay, I'm back....

Honestly girl, don't let this person get to you. She's obviously in some serious need for mental help. Anybody that has children, wants children, has nieces, nephews, young cousins and friends with children KNOW the difference and KNOW NOT to say something so ignorant and heartless as that!!!

I can't believe she would open her big dummy head mouth and say something SO rude to you!!!

Girl!!!

I'm so completely astounded that something like that would come out of someone's mouth. I've played games like that with my brothers. I've also had many times when they weren't games, and as much as it hurt coming from them, I never ONCE wished that. And my brothers were healthy. I can't imagine that Sami is as terrorized as me, or that she would eve THINK that thought for even a fraction of a second.

All my best wishes to Cameron as always.

I am shocked and stunned. You think I wouldn't be surprised what people say by now, but that really takes the cake. TACTLESS.

You did the best thing by walking away. I probably would have ripped her hair out- I don't care who it is. I know how protective I am of Mason- especially b/c he does suffer from a serious illness I am probably moreso than if he was 100% healthy.

YOu have every right to be angry and P.O.'d. I am fuming just thinking about this!

Sometimes I just can't believe the things that come out of people's mouths. Even if you are not thinking, how could you say something so horrible?

((hugs))

I would hope that she did not intend to say what she said.
She is probably wrenched with guilt right now.

Of course this doesn't excuse her words, I am sorry she said such a horrible thing to you Lori.

I'm really sorry that she said that to you. Maybe she is just as oblivious as I can be at times, and meant nothing by it. At least I hope that's the case.
