UMMm they had their babies by TTC with IUI and injectables.

Am I CRAZY?????

I would be THRILLED with just one... that is all I am really hoping for. Two would be a blessing...three would be great. Four MAYBE... but six? ummmm admit me now!

Why did I think they did IVF?

I thought they had done IVF for a long time till I started watching their show and found out they just used IUI. That is still such a crazy thing to get 6 from IUI. I give them credit for staying sane through it all.

Ummm...he he....I've been watching that show since forever, and when both you and Steph mentioned IUI I thought "do they KNOW about Jon & Kate?!?!? I hope so!!"

Kate actually had 9 (I believe) eggs or something inserted, and 7 of the babies "took". They later found out that 1 of the bubs didn't make it. They were/are also apposed (sp?) to reduction, which is why they had 6 babies. Mady & Cara were also IUI babies!

Can't you tell, I love them!

ETA -- Kate also has/had PCOS which is why she couldn't get pregnant.

Wait, I thought that was IVF that they collected and then reinserted the eggs. I'm gonna have to do some more reading, because now I'm confused.

And somebody commented that their still sane. I don't know, sometimes when I watch that show I don't think poor Kate is always sane. Can't blame her for losing it sometimes though, 8 kids would be ROUGH!

A good friend of mine did injectibles/IUI. She had twin girls, BUT they are identical, so that doesn't really count.

A very low percentage end up with that many!!

With IUI they just put the sperm in... the eggs are already there like in normal ovulation. She must have had 9 eggs grow then. That is amazing that 7 fertilized.

Which site did you see that on? Just curious. Some sites say IUI w/ injectibles, some say IVF....one even said it was IUI using only Clomid.

I thought it was IVF though.....Maybe I'll have to see if I still have their original special on my DVR. lol

I just looked up their site again, and it took her 2 cycles to get preggers with Mady & Cara!

Does that mean we should have a poll to see who guesses the right amount of baby/babies you will have?? hehe.

Okay does anyone have the link to their site? I just googled it and thought the IUi info was correct. Now I don't know?

I am game for a poll.... as long as no one votes for 0 babies! LOL Maybe we should wait and see what my next u/s looks like? Then we will have a better idea of how many eggs are developing

I can't find anything on the TLC site about IUI/IVF.....My daughter watches with me all the time and she seems to think it was IVF too.

I am pretty sure they had the sextuplets via IUI and injectibles. Most drs won't implant that many eggs due to the risk of so many taking, so the higher orders of multiples usually occur when doing IUIs rather than IVFs.

And, I have two friends that got pg with triplets after doing an IUI and injectibles!

Yup, it was IUI and injectibles. I don't remember which injectibles. I know they answered that question on a Q&A episode and I think it was Pergonal but I'm really not sure.

I know it wasn't Clomid.

If you look at their website, the cycle she got pg with the six, she said she was told she had 3 with the possibility of 4 follicles. But I wonder if maybe she wasn't being monitored very well b/c obviously she had at least 7 eggs!

This is all very interesting...I don't really know about their TTC method, but can I just add...I LOVE that show

But, my dh hates it cause he thinks that Kate is a b**** to Jon. I personally just think she runs a tight ship! lol
