"Happy Mother's Day"
They don't know how much it hurts
They don't know that I ache
because she's not here with me.
They don't know
I'll never get to see her eyes light up
or see her smile
or hear her say "I love you, Mommy."
Yes, I have another baby.
Yes, she is my pride and joy.
But that doesn't erase my pain.
But that doesn't bring her sister back.
That doesn't erase the two Mother's Days
I had without a child in my arms.
It doesn't erase the fact I should be holding two babies today.
So, yes, today has been happy,
but it hurts too.
So I wish that someone could understand.
I wish that no mother should have to feel this.
I wish that all those women who hurt this day
could remember one thing:
You created life, that makes you a mother.
You love a baby, that makes you a mother.
You ache today, because you are a mother.
But one day, you'll have little arms around your neck
and slimy baby kisses,
And you'll hear the best of all words:
"I love you mommy."

So to all of you I wish
Happy Mother's Day.
