So, our car died, and DH had to buy a new one. He bought an '06 Rav4. And really, he didn't get that good of a deal. Well, I mean that he added some things that we didn't really need, that added up. Not only that, but I was thinking more along the lines of an '00 or '01, not an '06.
His parents gave us $6000 for a down payment, but we're adding another $3000 for the rest of the down payment onto the credit card that we JUST PAID OFF.
So, now instead of paying off all our credit cards this summer, we've ADDED to it, plus $300 a month in a car payment, plus I know our insurance is going to go up.
I'm so very very very frustrated. I thought we were going to pay off the credit cards with some wiggle room.
With this extra expense I don't know how we're going to be able to afford another baby so soon.

That is frustrating. Once you think you have some extra money, he adds to your debt. We are trying to sell our Tahoe. Its ridiculous to spend so much on something to ride around in, especially with gas being so expensive now. Good luck hon!!!

Well, we had no choice about the new car, so I think I'm most upset that the stupid car died. Ugh. We'll make it work somehow.

Hey Brittanie, if people always waited until they could afford a baby, there'd be A LOT less babies in the world
It sucks about the car dying and the new credit card debt, but it will work out in the end...it always does!!
Congrats on the new car!

Brittanie if it's any consolation the RAV4 is the top rated SUV in it's class. I bought one last year and it has been great. This car should last you a very long time!

I hate spending money when it's not necessary. We have a perfectly fine running car, sits 6 and a nice boot space. However, road tax is going up by £100 in 2 years (yes, we still have 2 years) and my hubby instisted on buying something better for tax. So instead of selling the one we have, he has bought another car. I voiced my opinion on this but it didn't mattter. The car was a great deal and we don't need a loan, but I would have rathered sold our current car first. So now we have a Fiat and a BMW that need to be sold.
When my hubby wants something, he wants it now and is very impatient. We did this on Sunday and because banks aren't open on Sunday, I said I would take the checkbook. Well, of course the check has to clear, but my hubby thinks is should have cleared already. It cleared our bank this morning, but not the car dealers. I told my hubby he should call before leaving so to make sure it's all ready to go, but no, he heads off to the train station anyway. Called when he got to our station which is over a 2 mile walk and yells at me that we are never paying by check again. I was livid!!!!! Like it was my fault. He said we should have just paid outright, hello, it was Sunday. Then he says we could have used our debit card. Well, we still have a limit on that but not one word was mentioned at home before I said I'll get the checkbook nor at the car dealer when I asked if they took checks.
This is the first time that we have been debt free and I want to keep it that way. But some men are so impatient and my hubby tops the list.
Sorry for the rant on your topic Brittany but I understand where you are coming from.

I'm sorry Brittanie. I hate having car problems and spending the money to fix or replace them.
